Woven Paper Textile: "earthmothergoddess"
This iconic paleolithic figure, the 'venus' of Willendorf is one of my favourite pre-historic artifacts. In real life, just 4" tall, she is one of the most powerful images of the divine feminine of any time (she's 25,000 years old!).
Materials: Appropriated image on paper, metallic tissue, gold thread.
Dimensions: 14" x 9.75"; Framed 24" x 18 3/4".
Matted and framed with glass.
Note: the 'eye' of a digital camera is confused by the light reflected by the gold threads and tries to 'correct' the effect i am trying to achieve. The holographic threads reflect little pings of colour, along with the shimmer of the gold threads.
