Linda Brine is a maker of fine Handwovens (Personal and Home Accessories) and Hand Bound Books (Journals, Sketchbooks, Guest Albums) and Boxes. Delighting in the interplay of colour, texture and pattern, Linda employs the finest exotic fibres (Alpaca, Merino, Silk, Mohair) in her weaving, and Japanese Papers, Asahi Bookcloth and/or Snakeskin to craft her exquisite books and boxes. Linda's practice also encompasses her unique approach to the creation of one-of-a-kind Woven Paper Textiles. Influenced by the (secret!) Japanese art of Saganishiki, Linda alters found photographs and appropriates art historical imagery, interweaving de-constructed images on paper with shimmering threads to create a new and entirely original hybrid medium.
